Reiter Lamborghini and Saintloc Audi Lap Up the French Sunshine

FREE PRACTICE 1

Under the hot summer sun in the South of France, the FIA GT3 European Championship took to the track for the first session of the weekend at Paul Ricard, with Round 5 winner Albert von Thurn and Taxis, in the nr24 Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo, seting the fastest time of the first Free Practice session with a lap of 2:09.307 on the 5.8km circuit. Maxime Soulet, in the nr1 Prospeed Competition Porsche 911 GT3 R, was second fastest with a lap time just 0.023s behind the session best. Third, with a time of 2:09.601, was Matt Griffin in the nr21 MTECH Motorsport Ferrari 458 Italia, just ahead of the nr3 Graff Racing Mercedes Benz SLS of Mike Parisy. The session was red flagged 3 minutes from the end of the session due to debris on the track from the nr13 Fischer Racing Ford GT.

FREE PRACTICE 2

Dino Lunardi in the nr15 Sainteloc Racing Audi R8 LMS was fastest in the second FRee Practice session on day 1 of the Paul Ricard weekend, setting a best lap time of 2:08.155. Former French GT Champion Mike Parisy, in the nr3 Graff Racing Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, set the second best lap with a time of 0.073s slower than the lead car. Maxime Martin was third quickest in the nr9 LMP Motorsport Aston Martin DBRS9 with a time of 2:08.417. The session was red flagged for five minutes to recover the nr4 Graff Racing Mercedes when a flat tyre stranded the car in an unsafe position. The nr 21 MTECH Motorsport Ferrari 458 Italia did not take part in the second Free Practice session due to gear box issues.
